Photo of plant discovered in back of property. Like to know what is the name of the plant, when and how can I transplant this plant safely and does this plant need shade and etc to grow. Also how large does this plant get?

This appears to be a Leatherleaf Mahonia. I have several in my yard.

I have this nodule type growth in my lawn. It looks like something between dog doody and a mushroom. It’s very hard to the touch; almost potato like in consistancy. I have to dig it up with a spade, but it comes back each year. In the fall, it opens up and disintegrates into powder.
Do you know what it might be?

I looked up the Leatherleaf Mahonia info, But this growth never sprouts or blooms; just looks like a billard ball sized mushroom. I’ve dug it up each
year but it returns ervery spring. In the fall it disinergrates just like a mushroom.
Any further ideas?
