Notes:

planted by previous owners, growing with bunches of small oval berries. Berries are purple on the outside with sweet red juice and small seeds in each.

    That’s a Mahonia. A little bit hard to say exactly which, but with those few broad leaflets it may be Mahonia bealei.

    Grape holly… Mahonia.
    Blooms in January, and those purple berries are supposed to be good to eat… I ate one yesterday, but it wasn’t really ripe enough… It didn’t taste bad…

    Awesome, thanks for the info guys. Yes, I looked up other pictures of mahonia and they look identical. Glad to know I’ve got more edibles in my garden!
