I have several of these growing in the front yard. At first I thought of poison sumac, but the leaf arrangement isn’t quite right. Plus no rash after 3 days… I just wonder what it is. I have searched several sites seeking an answer, but nothing like this shows up. Having transplanted to GA from NJ, I keep seeing new plants, this is the first I can’t figure out.

Well you were partly right… definitely poison…

Nandina is invasive, and the best thing you can do is to dig it out… Plant something safe for the birds… like blueberry.

Thank you, that is exactly it. I’ll make sure there are no berries for now, and kill it mid-winter when I get a little time. There are several, it’ll take some time…
