There are two plants that look like ferns that have popped up all over my back yard in the last few years. I have never seen them for sale at a garden center nor growing wild in the woods so don’t know where they came from. In the 1st picture and the 3rd close up the leaves are wider than the one in the 2nd picture. They are about 9 inches high and 12 inches wide.

The 2nd picture looks like Japanese Climbing Fern. It can grow high and is invasive. Google for a picture.

    Thanks for replying,
but neither of the ferns climbs or is a vine type of fern.

My ferns didn’t climb either but they did multiply. A person who had it on a gate told me what it was. Mine were just maybe a foot or two in length. When I googled it and found out they could be invasive I did away with them. (But it was beautiful on the gate!)
