I live in extreme southern Alabama and my son found this plant growing it has tiny things that look like watermelons with spikes. The flowers are white and have 5 petals. The spikes are soft unless you poke one directly into your finger. He brought me these to transplant from his dads to my house but I want to make sure we can eat them
