Notes:

Last year we had a lot of sunflowers. They came up this year but yet have bloomed. Are these sunflowers? If they are do they bloom every year? Could the heat be causing the problem this year? I appreciate any advice you can give. Thank you.

Could they be Jerusalem artichokes? Their flowers look a lot like sunflowers.

Sometimes when a plant is soooo happy with it’s growing conditions it forgets to bloom. These sunflowers look like they are getting lots of water and fertilizer. They may bloom a little in a few weeks, or maybe not. Just keep taking care of them and see what happens. That’s the joy of gardening!

They look like Swamp Sunflowers, Helianthus angustifolius. They like moist soil and lots of sun. Mine bloom in late summer, August/September.

Thanks so much for your responses. I did find on Walter’s website that these are called swamp sunflowers and bloom in September so we have hope.
