This is going to show my knowledge, but is this considered a shrub or a perennial… and what is it? Thanks!
This is a shrub. Did it have white flowers in the spring, appearing just after the leaves? It looks to me like a viburnum.
It’s definitely a shrub. Viburnum plicatum tomentosum, or Doublefile Viburnum.
Thank you! Do I need to cut this back or shape it up or just let it go?
I wouldn’t do anything to it. You have a very healthy viburnum there, and it will go 8-10 feet. Only prune after flowering in the spring if you have dead wood.
