Notes:

The green leafy plant is very tall in the 1st pic. The 2nd has several plants that are growing. The tall one looks like it is getting ready to bloom. Do you know if these is a plant or weed? Thanks for your help.

    Looks like a goldenrod. Goldenrods have long been vilified by people that believed it caused hay fever. Not true. Goldenrods provide a nectar source for butterflies, which is good… Unfortunately, that particular plant comes with stolons, and forms colonies. At my house, I pull out most of the patch, leaving only a small amount for the butterflies. There are a number of different goldenrod types, and I have a number of them that don’t have the stoloniferous habit. http://www.fcps.edu/islandcreekes/ecology/goldenrod.htm
