Notes:

My mother in law thought she planted cucumbers, but this came in instead. The fruit/vegetable is fuzzy to the touch. The flowers are yellow.

    Hmmm. Additional research on that actually indicates that cucumbers generally only cross pollinate with other varieties of cucumbers, so I’d have to go with stone and say she planted some kind of melon instead. Or it’s a very unusual cucumber!

    Was she planting from purchased seed or trying to use seed from last year’s crop? That family of vine is notorious for cross breeding and if it is from last year’s crop, it could be a cucumber crossed with who knows what…
