Notes:

Tree or shrub has smooth bark almost like an apple tree. Leaves are alternate and toothed (small).

    Thanks Bobby, the leaves are indeed slightly toothed. I was leaning towards the cherry laurel as well.

    Gary, the Savannah holly leaf is more rounded at the tip than your plant. I think we can rule it out. The leaves on your plant do have the general shape of the cherry laurel but at 400x their margins are slightly toothed. Anybody heard for Walter lately? Ok, everybody check their chimneys.
