These have been growing in certain areas of my yard. I live in Douglasville, Ga. They look like partially buried rocks before I dug them up. They are about golf ball sized and bigger. There are always mushrooms growing in yard too. Could they be a type of truffle? I’m more concerned if they are poisonous because I have dogs.

I believe that truffles grow at the base of hardwood trees in Europe, but in pecan groves in GA.

I wouldn’t worry about the dogs eating them.
I used to have a cat that ate wild mushrooms, and it never seemed to hurt the cat.
