Notes:

I need help identifying the type of grass in my yard. At first we were told Centipede but that is not correct. They we were told Meyer Zoysia. In the first photo Meyer Zoysia sod is on the left and our grass is on the right. In the second photo is a close up photo of our grass only. Our house was built in 1950 and this may be the original lawn. We need to replace about 50% of the lawn and would like to match the sod if possible.

    It’s St. Augustine. Great grass.

I was initially told it was St. Augustine but when a landscaper ordered a pallet and we compared the two the St Augustine had much larger blades and was much thicker.

Looks like zoysia to me, meyer is quite likely but at least of the zoysia japonica lineage. There are so many new varieties of zoysia japonica today that getting an exact match may be difficult(el toro, jamur, zenith, etc). Keep in mind that color differentiation can be as simple as the amount of nitrogen available to the plant and is not necessarily a defining characteristic. The two samples in your first photo look quite similar other than that.
