Notes:

About 5 feet tall and wide. Woody so I cut it back in spring. Does not have square stems. No noticeable fragrance. bees and Butterflies love it. Have taken it to GardenHood and Pike’s and sent pictures to a nursery that specializes in Salvias because that’s what I thought it was but they say it is not a Salvia. At the very least I’d like to know what type of plant it is.

The flowers look very similar to those of purple loosetripe species in the Lythrum genus. the stems are either square or 6-sided. there are many species, and cultivars, some of these are Purple SpiresÕ,ÔDropmore Purple,Õ ‘Lady Sackville’, and ÔMorden Gleam.Õ
