This is a very tall tree like bush that gets beautiful fragrant yellow blooms in the spring. It now has a few berries on it. Here when I bought my 1810 house. Thank you.

Thank you! I would say that you are right.Indeed I have heard it called that, too. “Ribes odoratum” or Clove Currant is more accurate.

As a kid (1960s) I use to pick off the yellow flowers and suck the sweet nectar from the base of the flower. (One had to compete with the bees!) I also ate those healthy black berries. A very good bee plant. In later years I was told that it was an Alpine Current Hmmm……”Ribes alpinum” mostly have red fruit or non-significant fruit and the blooms are not bright yellow. Sounds like my name is wrong. Somebody give us a name for this shrub.
