Can anyone identify the photos? They are invading my ivy beds. They have waxy leaves and are viney. The stems and roots are nearly identical to the ivies. The “reach” above the ivy tops and appear to be choking out the ivy. A landscape person said they look much like Poison Oak, though the leaves are much larger.

  1. stone Flower Fanatic says:

    Definitely not poison oak.

It’s difficult to be certain with the shine on the leaves, but it might be sweet shrub.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the ivy is the invasive…
I could show u acres and acres of ruined woodlands with that mess choking out the desirables.
