Unknown seed pod from tree in neighborhood

Notes:

Tree is medium in height 15-20 feet and leaves have not started to turn color. From a distance it looks like grapefruit hanging on the tree. This is one that had fallen to the ground. It has no odor or smell and I have not cut it to see what it looks like inside. I thought I give you a try after an exhaustive internet search with no luck.

    Google the different varieties he mentions to see differences in the fruit.

    It looks like a mock orange. There is a mock orange tree in Jonesoboro near the city cemetary. Looks like the same fruit.
