In spring the fruit that drop to the ground are purple skin. I thought they were from a grape until I noticed they grew on a tree. What kind of tree is it?

This is a persimmon. they are great after the first frost. Before that, they really are bad!!!

Those of us who grew up in the country grew up eating these little fruits.

That’s a persimmon tree! As I recall the frost needs to hit them before you eat them otherwise your mouth will pucker up something horribly!!! I know that because we ate them as kids………..
