Notes:

I got this originally from a friend. In a few years it is taking over my border garden. It doesn’t die back to the ground like most irises in the winter, but instead has brown tips that look sad. It seems to spread from roots that are like grass roots. I hope someone can identify it.

    Definitely not liriope. I included a photo of the bloom, but it’s not shown in the post. Notice how wide the blades are and the purple at the base of the plant. I think I’ll post again so the bloom gets shown.

    Looks like liriope, aka monkey grass. It’s an evergreen ground cover or border edger. In the early spring it’s good to trim it back with a lawnmower or weed whacker so the spring growth can shoot up over the old growth and look good for the next season.
