Does anyone know what this groundcover might be? It comes up every spring, stays until winter then dies out. Always comes back

This appears to be Houttuynia cordata. It likes sun or part shade and moist soil. Can “travel”, but a nice plant to have in certain areas. It also comes in a variegated variety.

It looks like Houttuynia cordata (Chameleon Plant). It is a nice pond plant, but can be invasive in the ground.
