These are in my veggie garden. I did not plant them. The foliage looks similar to my crookneck squash. Is it a squash, is so what kind? It kind of looks like a white pumpkin. Is it eatable and if so, how would I know if it was ripe?

It may be a cross-breed hybrid volunteer squash. It looks too pumpkinish (n shape) to be a patty pan squash which is why I think it may be an odd and unplanned hybrid. I’d give it a taste, if you can determine when it seems to be ready to eat. Some volunteer hybrids can be quite tasty and other not so much.
