Waxy leaves

Plants have grown to over 10 feet, flourishing in shade, I don’t remember if it flowered or not. They were planted intentionally as part of original homeowner’s landscaping (we have only owned home for 2 years and they haven’t been pruned well before then). Leaves are waxy and dark green. Trunk is shown in middle.
