What are these 3 plants? (ID complete)

Notes:

The 1st one is all over my yard and most are growing from stumps that were cut down before I bought the house. It looks like a tree. The second is a low growing something by the road and the 3rd is also low growing and appears to have spines.

    The top photo is smilax, or green briar. This looks a little different than what we are accustomed to because there are about 350 species of the stuff. I think I have 200 species at my house. The middle photo is Ginger and is not reliably hardy here. It may freeze to the ground in most winters and come back in May. The bottom photo is Banana Shrub…I think.

    Bottom picture is a young Camphor tree (Cinnamomum camphora). Crush leaves have a distinct odor.
