what da heck is it?

Notes:

We noticed this “stuff” on one of the outside windows of our house, and are curious to know what it is.

We were struck by it’s near perfect looking yet naturally occurring pattern.

We don’t think it could be a plant or a mold or a fungus, because it looks too orderly.

This led us to think it was most likely left there by an insect of spider of some sort.

Ideas?

    we had the same thing on our hummingbird feeder and it was so amazing. They are lacewing egg cases.
