It stayed green all winter and even bloomed in Jan.

    It looks like a Camillia. They bloom in the winter and stay evergreen. At least mine do in Atlanta.

    Yes, this is a camellia. One thing I recently learned about this bush is that it is a good idea to pick up the buds after they drop off. If not, your bush could develop “blight.”
