Here is a photo of a newly planted cabbage plant (and other cabbage plants and some lettuce), and something has eaten that poor plant up. I looked all over the plant and I did not see any caterpillars or bugs on the plant. I don’t think that it is slugs. I have a large mesh screen protecting the pot to keep out friendly squirrels and chipmunks but I don’t think that they could have gotten in to eat them either (the screen goes up at least three feet high).
