Notes:

A friend showed me this and I love it, she says her neighbor gave her a start. According to her it is an annual, but will spread and grows to be about 2 feet tall? She brought it along with her from Texas to Iowa. I love the colors and the leaf shape! reminds me of christmas holly,

Maybe Texas poinsettia (Poinsettia cyathophora). Other common names include Painted Euphorbia, Desert Poinsettia, Wild Poinsettia etc…Best wishes! http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/newsletters/hortupdate/2011/nov_dec/poinsettia.html

Pointsettia. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poinsettia This is what they look like in year two. Never as gorgeous as nursery grown, but still a nice plant.
