Notes:

We had someone clear brush behind the house last year and they cut down whatever this was. We don’t remember the original plant since the foliage was so thick. It’s probably 12-15′ tall so I’m wondering is this the bean stalk from “Jack in the Beanstalk” or what. It has very healthy shiny leaves. Any ideas?

They are considered invasive, though folks plant them on purpose because the berries they produce are edible. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elaeagnus http://www.invasivespeciesinfo.gov/plants/autmnolive.shtml http://beautifulediblegardens.blogspot.com/2009/04/elaeagnus.html
