Last summer we tried to plant some watermelon and canalope from seeds in garden bed, but with not luck. This came up near the same location in the last couple of weeks. Could it be? If not, what is it? (novice, obviously)

It is considered a difficult weed to control in lawns. Spot spray it with Roundup in the garden.
