This is a weed that is in my zoysia grass that has been hard to get rid of.

    Have you seen a very small bloom, if so, what color? Also, how would you describe the shape of the leaves? Heart shape?

    I do not see a bloom. The leaves that are lower on the stem are heart shaped, with some serrations, and opposite on the stem.

    Ben,I think this is corn speedwell. It is best controlled with preEmergents in the fall. Corn speedwell does have a rather inconspicious blue bloom that on closer inspection should confirm our mystery weed ID. There are other similar speedwell varieties but this one is a very common spring weed in lawns. http://msuturfweeds.net/details/_/corn_speedwell_39/
