I started a separate thread with two pictures of the fruit, but I have not seen it yet. When I do, I will post the link to it (thought in that thread I included a reference to this one).

Can you make a new post with pictures of “fruits” and seed pods? Thank you and best wishes!

Thanks for the response. There are no real fruits, though the base of the flower grows – perhaps the size of a large walnut, but does not ripen – or is green today. When opening that “fruit” it looks like there are a couple of pods inside, looks very much like 2 good size garlic buds.

My first thought was Eucalyptus too Metrosideros. But the plants flower buds look more of those in the Syzygium genus. Syzygium jambos perhaps? Maybe EW can tell us whether the tree has any fruits and what do they look like also. https://www.google.co.kr/search?q=syzygium+jambos&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiIrv_k6rHMAhWBJZoKHaghC2UQiR4IgQE&biw=1366&bih=598#imgrc=_
