Yes, they are durable and will recover nicely after their little freeze/burn. My damaged foliage turns black, typically; but here in zone 7 to 8 it is flourishing and we can prune off branches and stick them in the ground in a damp, sheltered place; and they will generate roots. Good to know if you think you might lose one or more…..

This looks like Aucuba with some late frost/freeze burn. If you like the plant cut it back to any height you desire. It will come back much thicker with it’s new growth this season.
