My mother-in-law (from Marietta) gave us some hen and chicks plant a few years ago. Just before Memorial Day this year, a stalk began to sprout from the center. As of today (July 10) the second photo is what it looks like now. neither my mother-in-law nor we have ever seen this happen. What is it?
