Notes:
One of them is from a fruit-less pear tree, I don’t know the other at all (flowering at a different time though). Now the trouble is that I forget which is which, and don’t want to wait for next flowing season. Help 🙂

I can’t tell from the photos which is which. But from what I learned, the leaves of fruit-less pear’s or flowering pear (Pyrus calleryana) are thicker and usually glossier than the common pear (Pyrus communis). Also flowering pear’s leaves have great fall’s leaf colors. Depends on the cultivars, colors are varied. Here are some of the flowering pear cultivars : Aristocrat – wavy leaves, red to yellow fall color. Bradford – red, yellow, orange, and purple. Cleveland Select aka ‘Chanticleer’ – red and orange. Redspire – dark red and yellow. Also flowering pears some like Aristocrat, Bradford, Chanticleer and Cleveland Select’s flowers have a very unpleasant smell to them. Best wishes!
