These berries grow on a bush about 5 ft tall. The bush resembles a larger version of the low bush blueberries we are picking elsewhere on our property here in Ellijay. The berries in the photo are slightly larger than the others that we picked, and they are a glossy green (our low bush blueberries are ripening already, and started out a more muted green). Have we hit the blueberry jackpot, or are these something else?

    They look like huckleberries.

Huckleberry leaves look different than that-I would think more blueberry-I have them too.

How are wild bushes treated to increase yield and size?
I live in Lumpkin County, south side, elevation 1260′. The bushes are in the woods, predominately hardwood – maple, poplar, oak, few pines. Bushes 5 – 6′ tall
    Thank you for your response
