Found this flower growing in a shady, wet area near my house. Petals hang downward, vivid purple in color and has a yellow center.

   You must have a ‘mature’ landscape to have a Chequered Lily (Fritillaria meleagris). Try to leave the foliage alone until it dies down naturally. That will help it bloom next spring.
