Notes:

This grape has overtaken my persimmon tree. Lots of muscadines in the area but this looks very different. About two weeks ago the vine was full of clusters and clusters of blossoms. Only a few set fruit.

Not even close to a moonseed. They all have thorns and smooth edged waxy looking leaves. Looks to be a variety of muscadine. Fox and frost grapes both hang with very tight, larger bunches of small fruit.

I picked a ripe purple fruit today. Inside were three crescent moon shaped seeds. The broken fruit smelled much like a wild black cherry. Wish we could add pictures to this 🙂

Many similarities, my vine does have tendrils, cut one open to view the seed but immature and couldn’t detect any crescent shaped seeds. More on this later

Might be common moonseed. If it is, they are poisonous.
