When scientists at Cornell University investigated the response plants have to disease, they discovered an interesting fact: if a plant “thinks” it is about to be attacked, it can thicken its cell walls and concentrate its defensive reserves… and thus become resistant to attack.
They investigated further and found a specific protein that causes this “systemic acquired resistance”.
Harpin protein is manufactured by Eden BioScience as a powder that can be mixed with water to spray onto plants. It has been shown to reduce the effects of disease and to increase the photosynthesis of plant leaves.
“Messenger” is sold directly by Eden BioScience and “Green Guard” is sold by Gardens Alive.
