Spinosad - New Insecticide

Gardeners are always on the lookout for insecticides that are made from natural sources.

Spinosad is a nerve toxin derived from a naturally-occurring bacterium, Saccropolyspora spinosa.

It is available as a general-purpose insecticide in Green Light Lawn and Garden Spray.

Green Light also offers Conserve Fire Ant Control. It is labeled for use on home gardens.

Spinosad has a performance profile similar to that of Amdro®, if not a little faster. Dead ants are noticeable around individually treated mounds within 24 hours with control in a week. Full suppression should occur in a month or less with a broadcast bait application.
