Diagnosing Brown Patch
You
have brown patches of dead grass in your lawn. Is it the common lawn
disease 'brown patch' or is it something else? The answer is important:
if it is brown patch you probably need to spray with a fungicide.

Phytophthora Root Rot
This fungal disease attacks many woody plants
from rhododendrons and anise to any number of other shrubs and trees.
It's always present in the soil but often attacks vulnerable plants,
especially during wet years. Plants that are stressed are especially
susceptible. The problem often appears as though the plant needs water.
