"What is that tree?" A curious person wrote me about a tree
he had seen along a trail in Kennesaw. Although he was unable to
provide me with an image, his description of long vertical sections of
peeling bark led me to believe he had seen a shagbark hickory. ....find

canadense)
Deciduous ground cover native to the eastern half of the
U.S. and Canada. Less than six inches tall, Canadian ginger grows in
medium to heavy shade spreading to form a thick blanket of large
heart-shaped leaves. Because it isn't evergreen, there is no need to
