This pod was hanging in my backyard from a vine. I’d never seen the vine before and certainly never seen a pod like this. Each of the 3 pod lobes is about 4″ long, very fleshy with gray/tan exterior and white, almost cottony, interior. Each lobe also has a grey stamen (?) that runs the full length of the pod and looks like a closed pinecone. The vines are thin yet woody with green leaves as in the photo – 5 small oval leaves per stem.
