Notes:
I have these planting themselves in my outdoor pots & occasionally in the lawn–which isn’t quite greened up yet. It starts off as the seeding on the left with the seed (?) on top. Then it drops the seed ball & spreads out like the seedling on the right. I don’t know if this is a good guy or a bad guy. It’s soft with a shallow taproot & easy to pull out (as long as it’s actually discovered. Please help identify! Thank you.

This is what I was in search of, too. It’s everywhere and I’ve never seen it in previous years. Hope someone can tell us what it is and if I need to work harder to remove it.

Oooh and apparently I can develop them into a bonsai! Haha okay that’s all.

Wouldn’t have thought so because they are so fragile, pliable, easy to yank out of the ground. Does anyone have suggestions as to how to limit their extreme seed spreading & overtaking of other beds & pots? Has anyone ever relocated and/or tried to grow them?

They are Ponderosa Pine seedlings! I don’t know why I didn’t make the connection sooner. They are ALL over the yard. Explains the army of seeds from last year.
