Notes:
I moved to Jasper, GA from N FL almost 9 years ago. I’m a Cherokee County Master Gardener and very active in the Ball Ground garden club. I love all aspects of gardening, especially trying to identify plants.

I’m not doubting your expertise but I’m writing what the person who has this “gall” in her tree. “Seems strange though as the plant has it every year, and even had it during the drought years. I wonder if it is something that stays with the plant forever, since mine has had it for 17 straight years now?” She was wondering if gall came back year after year. When I was reading about it, it was mentioned that excessive rain could cause the gall, but she said even in the drought it was there…still confusing.

Thanks!…but this is in a big, tall tree. Would it still be a plant gall?…and is the azalea leaf gall on just azaleas? Sure looks like the pics.

Looks like some kind of plant gall to me. Is it actually attached to the plant or is it something that may have fallen from above?
