Spiders – Beneficial for plants
Q: This morning we had heavy dew and I noticed my Foster Hollies and various surrounding shrubs were overrun with tented webs. Each tented web contained one small spider. They appeared to have a yellow striped body with a brown or orange head. Do you think I should kill these spiders or perhaps just hose them off?
A: In my opinion, all GA landscape spiders are beneficial so I’d leave them alone. Their population usually declines drastically after a few days.
