Juniper – Too Large for Pot

Q: My juniper is slowly turning brown and I’m not sure what to do for it.

A: It looks like a juniper that became too dry after planting. The container is pretty small for that size plant (double the current size would be better). On sunny or windy days, the juniper loses so much water that you have to water the pot every day to keep it happy. Check the moisture in the soil EVERY day (winter and summer) …..or get a bigger pot….or replace the juniper with a conical boxwood.
