Lombardy Poplar – Not Recommended
Q: Two weeks ago you mentioned problems planting Lombardy poplar. I thought you might like to know that it is against the City of Atlanta tree ordinance to plant Lombardy poplars on city property.
A: Indeed you are correct. Both Lombardy poplar and silver maple are forbidden to be planted on property controlled by the city. There are several more vines, shrubs and trees I could add to the list but I will let our city leaders come to their own conclusions sometime in the future.
