Parlor Palm – Bloom

Q: Can you tell me what is happening to my bamboo plant? I have four of these on my plant.
My husband wants me to find out what it is before we have aliens hatching out of the knots.
A: If the spike is coming up from the plant whose leaves I see in the background, you have a parlor palm (not a bamboo) and it is blooming
