Fatsia (Aralia) seed pods – remove or not
Q: I have had this aralia for several years. It bloomed profusely this year and now the blooms/balls are falling over & beginning to turn black. Do I need to cut them off?
A: I agree that the seed heads on this plant can be unattractive. It is known as both Aralia japonica and Fatsia japonica.
You can prune them off or leave them on. It’s entirely your choice.
