After a little more research, I found these following links for the Japanese cedar/Sugi (Cryptomeria japonica) that looks similar to your picture. Can you give us a better focus & closeup of the leaves? Also photos of the rest of tree, a closeup of the trunk, and cones (even ones that had fallen on the ground) if there are any. I had some ideas but unable to go further without the above mentioned details. Thank you & best wishes!
