Notes:
I found this plant in between the woods and the field behind my house in Monroe, TN. Its lower leaves are a darker green, and the top leaves (near the bud) are light blue. When broken open, the leaves smell minty. What is the name of this plant? Is it edible?

Ditto on Pycnanthemum. One of my favourite mints… I pull the entire plant, and hang upside down in a cool dark place until completely dry… then strip the leaves off the stems, and save for another day. I make tea by filling the coffee filter with dry leaves, and brewing like normal. mint is good for the lungs, and I drink tea to help my breathing… mint is also good for upset stomach… The best thing about Pycnanthemum is how many pollinators are interested in it… These posts show the sand wasps, but mint also attracts butterflies… http://stonethegardener.tumblr.com/tagged/Pycnanthemum
